Sometimes it can be tough to borrow money for things like vacations, computers, weddings or small remodeling jobs without charging these items to a credit card often times at close to 20% interest. Personal loans at the Credit Union allow you to borrow money collateralized with your signature for any reasonable purpose. You can borrow up to $10,000 with your signature and up to $15,000 with the addition of a co-maker’s signature to secure the loan.
The Credit Union also offers share and certificate secured loans. Instead of being secured by your signature, these loans are secured with funds you have on deposit at the Credit Union either in a savings account or in a certificate account. These loans can also be used for any reasonable purpose and because the loan is secured with funds at the Credit Union, often times the rates are more attractive than unsecured personal loans. The annual percentage rate for these loans is the rate you are earning on the funds in the Credit Union plus a margin. The funds must stay on deposit at the Credit Union until the loan is paid off.
