COVID Update 6/22/2020: Credit Union Lobbies are now open.

The lobbies of both the Main office and the Stafford Ave branch office are now open for normal business hours. The experience may be different than before Covid-19, but we are committed to creating the same member experience.

  • We ask that Members who are feeling sick, have come in contact with someone that may have COVID-19, or you have traveled recently from outside the area not enter the Credit Union for everyone’s safety.
  • Members will be required to wear a face mask upon entering the Credit Union; you may be asked to present ID and remove your face mask temporarily to confirm your identity
  • Members will see plexiglass shields at all teller windows.
  • Members will see and be asked to stand on social distancing markers on the floor.
  • You may be asked to wait outside if we have reached capacity to maintain social distancing as there will be no additional waiting area inside our lobbies.
  • We ask that only the individual who is conducting credit union business to come inside to the lobby.
  • We ask that you use the supplied hand sanitizer when getting to the Teller window.
  • We ask that you use your own pen when possible.
  • We ask that you refrain from using the Member Table in the lobby. You can endorse checks and request a deposit slip at a Teller window.

Precautionary Steps We Are Taking:

  • Both Credit Union Offices are cleaned and disinfected regularly to mitigate the spread of germs.
  • We have asked that any of our employees who are feeling ill or exhibiting symptoms of illness to stay home.
  • Employees are required to wear face masks.

As a reminder:

  • Our drive-through windows are a convenient, safe way to conduct financial transactions.
  • Cash withdrawals can be done at our ATMs.
  • Deposits can be done through mobile check deposit with our mobile banking app.
  • Loan payments and account transfers can be done through online banking or mobile banking.
  • Telephone banking is available by calling 860-584-0956 and pressing 2.
  • Our Call Center is available to assist with your financial transactions or questions at 860-584-0956 during office hours.
  • You can apply for a loan or open a new account at www.firstbristol.org.
  • You can pay your bills conveniently through online Bill Payment.
  • You can send money to almost anyone through PopMoney.
  • Night drops are available at both Credit Union offices.

Office Drive-Thru Only Service Effective March 20th
As you’re aware, the Governor has mandated the closing of schools, many businesses and some infrastructure in our state due to the impact of COVID-19.  We are making every effort to continue to meet your financial needs while ensuring the health and safety of all involved. For this reason, we are implementing the following changes starting Friday, March 20th.

Ways to Conduct Your Financial Transactions Without Entering a Credit Union Office

  • Home Banking and Mobile Banking are available 24/7. With Home Banking and Mobile Banking, you can obtain information and perform financial transactions from your home or office location. You can check on balances, review account activity, transfer funds between accounts, deposit checks, and pay bills. Enroll at firstbristol.org.
  • PopMoney is available 24/7. PopMoney is a fast, safe and easy way to send money directly between almost any bank accounts in the U.S., typically within minutes. With just an email address or U.S. mobile phone number, you can send money to individuals that you trust, regardless of where they bank. PopMoney is available with both Home Banking and Mobile Banking under Transfer and Pay.
  • Telephone banking is available by calling 860-584-0956 and pressing 2.
  • Loans can be applied for online. Just select Apply for a Loan on the home page.
  • Accounts can be opened online. Just select Open an Account on the home page.
  • Obtain cash or make account transfers between accounts linked to your FBFCU Debit Card at our ATM’s.
  • Night drops are available at both Credit Union offices. They provide a completely secure way to drop off deposits at the Credit Union.

 

3/16/2020:
We are taking the welfare of staff and members during the COVID -19 outbreak very seriously. We are closely monitoring the recommendations from the CDC and from Local, State and Federal agencies. We are initiating steps to help minimize the effects both to the physical and financial well-being of our members and our staff.

The purpose of this update is to provide you with information and resources you may find helpful. FBFCU is focusing its efforts on supporting our members and our staff through this COVID-19 outbreak. As of now, FBFCU’s operations have not been impacted. It is important for members to understand that this may change and that we will provide updates when needed. It is also important that the Credit Union have your most current contact information including address, phone number and email address. If your information has recently changed, please call the Call Center at 860-584-0956.

Convenient Ways to Conduct Financial Transactions from Your Home or Office

FBFCU offers several alternate ways of performing financial transactions should you not want to visit one of the Credit Union’s offices. If you are feeling sick, if you feel that you may have come in contact with someone that may have COVID-19, or if you have traveled recently to or from a Level 2 or Level 3 area, we ask that you not personally visit a FBFCU location for at least two weeks after returning to the U.S.

Criminals often try to take advantage of people during stressful situations such as this. Be vigilant and do not provide any personal information to anyone or any business that you are not familiar with or you can not verify.   • Both Credit Union Offices are cleaned and disinfected regularly to mitigate the spread of germs.

  • We are watching staffing levels throughout all operational areas to ensure service levels are maintained and to prevent any disruptions in service.
  • We have plans in place should conditions warrant a change to essential financial services only.
  • We have plans in place should conditions warrant for non-essential employees to work from home.
